Okaou began with a simple but powerful motivation: the fear of losing a child, even just for a moment. As parents we wanted our children to be able to reach us if they got separated, but they were too young to have phones. We needed a way for them to ask a kind stranger for help without sharing our personal information.
Losing sight of your child is terrifying, and traditional ID tags often display personal details openly. We set out to create something private, easy and kid‑friendly. Okaou cards make it simple for a good‑hearted stranger to contact you without exposing your phone number.
