Protecting your family’s privacy and security is our top priority. Phone numbers and personal details are never shared with anyone.
How Okaou Protects Children’s Data
With Okaou, sensitive details are never exposed. Only the minimum needed to help reunite a child with their family is shown, while everything else stays private.
Public Information

First name
Only the child’s first name is displayed to help identify them safely.
Age
The finder sees the child’s age, calculated from the birthday — never the full date of birth.
Emergency Contact Information
Emergency contacts are identified only by their first name and relation. Their last name and phone numbers are never displayed.
Allergies & Medication
If added, allergy and medication details will be shown to the finder. This ensures they are aware of important health needs, but no unnecessary medical history is ever revealed.
School
If you add a school, its name will be visible to help guide the finder, but only if you choose to include it.
Private Information

Last Name
Your child’s last name is kept private at all times.
Birth Date
Only the age is shown publicly — the full date of birth is never revealed.
Emergency Contact’s Information
Emergency contacts are identified only by their first name and relation. Their last name and phone numbers are never displayed.
Siblings
If you have other children under your account, their profiles are never shown on a child’s profile. Each profile remains separate and private.
Gender
Gender information is stored securely and never shared.
How Okaou Connects Calls
Calls help reunite children quickly, but giving out your real number isn’t safe. That’s why Okaou connects calls through a private system — so you’re always reachable without ever exposing your phone number.
Step 1
Code Generation
Each call starts with a unique, time-limited code to keep things safe.
Step 2
Okaou Number
The caller dials a secure Okaou number and enters the temporary code.
Step 3
Code Verification
Our system checks the code is valid and not expired.
Step 4
Safe Call Connection
The call connects safely to your chosen contact — without exposing your private number.
Each code can only be used once. After it’s been entered and the call is made, the code immediately expires.
How Okaou Connects Messages
Texting is often the quickest way to communicate, but sharing your real phone number can put your privacy at risk. With Okaou, all messages are routed through a secure proxy number, so you remain reachable without revealing personal details.
Step 1
Conversation initiated
The finder enters their name and phone number to begin an SMS conversation.
Step 2
Okaou Number
We generate a temporary Okaou number that acts as a secure proxy.
Step 3
Private Messaging
Send and receive texts through Okaou's number.
Step 4
Conversation ends
The conversation automatically ends after 10 minutes of inactivity.
Each conversation session is temporary. Once it ends, the finder cannot continue contacting your family unless they start a new conversation from your child’s profile.
Complete Oversight in Your Parent Portal
Your Parent Portal automatically keeps a record of every profile view, call, and message made through Okaou.
Profile Views
See every profile view along with the time, date, and approximate location of the viewer.

Access call recordings, see the caller’s phone number, and view their approximate location.
